Patrick Laurence specializes in insurance litigation on first- and third-party claims, with a subspecialty in the area of construction defect. Following law school, Patrick served in a one-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable James L. Ryan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He then spent several years representing personal injury claimants in complex litigation proceedings which collectively resulted in settlements of nearly one billion dollars. With this success, Patrick joined the defense bar and became a partner at one of the ten largest law firms in the United States. He has broad and diverse experience in both federal and state courts in such areas as professional liability, construction defect, business litigation, and copyright infringement.

Patrick successfully briefed and argued the case of Stratton v. Keough in which the California Court of Appeal unanimously affirmed the entry of summary judgment in favor of his clients in a multi-million dollar personal injury case.
